Restylane

There are a variety of compounds that are used to fill wrinkles, enlarge lips, and raise depressed areas on the facial skin. These are typically used on the lower face in areas around the mouth and lips. Restylane is now used most often, but we also use collagen (cosmoplast/cosmoderm).

New products are consistently discussed in newspapers and magazines. After evaluating your specific needs, Dr. Buhac will be able to make specific recommendations as to which product would be of most use to a specific patient. Fillers are injected into the area that needs filling with a fine needle, and numbing cream and local anesthetics are used to make the patient comfortable. This is a very operator dependant procedure, and it typically takes hundreds of cases to obtain the optimal level of expertise. Dr. Buhac has this experience, and has had multiple sessions of one on one training in Manhattan with the worlds leading injectors.

While some offices in this area allow nurses to administer these treatments, we feel that only expert physicians should be able to treat patients in this way. It takes about 30 minutes for a treatment, and the patient should not plan any social activities for the rest of the day to allow for swelling to diminish. Results last 4-6 months, and treatment price begins at $600.
